PreK-4 or 5′. Early Reading Program: Designed for PreK & Transitional Kindergarten students. Enrich your child with the gift of a strong foundation of early literacy. Discover letter knowledge and phonics through sound/symbol games and early reading books. Handwriting directionality techniques are used to develop printing. Practice homework packets and readers are sent home to enhance early reading skills.

Kindergarten-Early Kinder Reading Program. Phonics, Fluency & Handwriting: Designed for Kindergarteners. Learn early literacy through a multi-sensory approach to phonemic awareness, word families, instant words and reading fluency building as well as early writing skills plus handwriting. Practice homework packets and readers are sent home to enhance early reading skills

Language Enrichment: Phonics, Writing, Spelling & Fluency. (1st/2nd, Graders) Learn phonetic rules, decode words, spelling program which encompass the structure of the English language including sound/symbol relationships, affixes and syllable rules. Also included fluency skill building and written expression with sentence/paragraph development.. Practice homework packets and readers are sent home to enhance developing reading skills.

Dyslexia Program: Our dyslexia program is a multi-sensory approach in teaching students identified with special needs in learning to read, write and spell. A multi-sensory learning approach that links listening (phonemic awareness), speaking (oral language development), reading (word attack, vocabulary & comprehension), alliteration, as well as written expression. The class provides a comprehensive approach to teaching literacy skills, such as phonological awareness, letter recognition, decoding, comprehension, spelling, and written composition.

Comprehension Camp: Develop comprehension skills through researched-based visual-imagery program which teaches students how to use visually imagery and self-questioning strategies plus provide a verbal description of the on-going images. Students learn how to form questions, describe images about the content of the passage while reading to maintain interest and enhance recall.

Computer Lab: (included in each tutorial session). Orton-Gillingham approach which is language-based, multi-sensory, structured, sequential, cumulative, and cognitive and reviews phonetic based rules learned in all Reading Classes. Comprehension, Speed Drills, Fluency, and Vocabulary are also included in lessons.

Scientific Spelling & Structured English: Designed for 3rd-5th graders. Learn reliable spelling patterns of the English language, the major spelling rules, and a multi-sensory procedure for permanently memorizing irregular words. Advanced spelling patterns and rules, reviews the dictation procedure and provides suggestions for dealing with difficult-to-analyze words.

Reading/Writing/Comprehension Phonics Intervention 3rd thru 4th Graders: Designed for older, struggling students who are reading and spelling below grade level. Our program builds on prior learning, and presents information in small, carefully sequenced increments. Covering consonants, vowels, and reading comprehension, the program offers explicit, systematic strategies for decoding and spelling words with speed drills, and vocabulary tests reinforce learning and provide reading/writing opportunities. Students also learn dictionary skills through progressively difficult alphabetizing activities. Perfect for graduates of early intervention programs that need to refresh and/or continue building their existing skills. This system program will put them on the road to reading success!

Summer Reading Enrichment Camps: Offered June, July & August.

Summer Book Clubs: Explore a variety of different genres through Children’s Literature. Reflective writings and book talks using fiction, non-fiction. Form boy or girls Book Clubs with your friends in small, quaint & fun setting – and explore the joys of reading! Campus location, times, groups, genre topics to be announced.

Make-Up Policy: Credit will not be given for missed sessions. However, if the student is ill/vacation make-up sessions are offered weekly year-round on Saturday’s at our Frisco location. Advanced notice is required for scheduling.

Payment: Tuition is due on the 1st of each month. Monthly installments are available. We accept checks, auto bank draft or credit card (Visa or MC). Attendance: Credit will not be given for missed sessions; however, if the student is ill make-up sessions will be arranged on a case-by-case basis.

Behavior Policy: Creating a comfortable learning environment is critical for effective learning. In the event a child does not respond, we will notify the parents and work closely with them to develop a plan to help the child gain self-control and a positive attitude towards him/herself, peers and teachers. However, should the child’s disruptive behavior continue and hinder the learning environment of the other children, The Reading Ranch has the right to dismiss the student from our program.

Guest Policy: Only registered students are allowed to attend tutorial session.

NOTE: The Reading Ranch offers intervention and/or enrichment programs in Reading/Writing/Spelling/Phonics as well as Dyslexia – skills that will teach children the necessary tools and strategies to be successful. WE DO NOT DO HOMEWORK or PROJECTS.
