Reading Ranch was founded by Dr. Kim Southwell, built on research from her doctoral studies in reading education. That research became a real curriculum — not photocopied worksheets or drill-and-kill busywork, but structured, systematic phonics instruction delivered by a trained teacher.

We focus exclusively on literacy — reading, writing, comprehension, spelling, and critical analysis, for PreK through 6th grade. That focus is what lets us go deeper than a general tutoring center, and it’s why our students see real, lasting improvement.

How are Reading Ranch teachers trained?

  • Certified in The Reading Ranch Method™ — Teachers must complete and pass formal training modules before they’re certified to teach — this isn’t a quick orientation.
